WHAT HAPPENS WITH A DUI CASE
 
 - At the scene

The officer pulls you over for an alleged traffic violation.  Or you will be pulled over at a road block He or she will then allege you have a strong odor of alcohol on your breath or in the alternative that your eyes are bloodshot and glassy.  You will then be asked to do tests so that they can gather more evidence against you.  The include walk the line, recite the alphabet backwards and some others.  The are all impossible to do sober during the middle of the day and much more difficult at night by the side of the road.  They will then ask you to blow in a small machine.  You will then be arrested and take to the station.

- At the Station

You will be read your rights, you will be asked questions, you will be fingerprinted and photographed.  You will then be asked to blow in a breathalyzer.

Then the will set a bond for you.  Your car will be impounded.  You are now looking a different future.

-  What happens next

You will be given a court date.  46 days later your license will be suspended or revoked.

Now is when the bad stuff happens.  You license may be suspended or revoked indefinitely.  You may be fined up to $2500.00 or more.  You may be sentenced to Jail for a year.  Sometimes they can even charge you later with a DUI Felony.  You could go to prison for years.
